Located on 15,000 square feet in western Greenwich, the Armstrong Court Community Garden has offered the local community offers 140 raised garden plots since 2009. The garden features a pergola, pizza oven, greenhouse, rainwater-harvesting system, native gardens, and a butterfly garden. It is also host to a preschool gardening program that serves the on-site Head Start Program. Audubon Connecticut has designated this garden an Urban Oasis.

The garden is supplied with organic soil, composting bins, and sheds filled with garden tools, gloves, and wheelbarrows. There is water on site. Organic seeds and seedlings are provided by local nurseries, individual donors, seed companies, and volunteers working in partnership with the Greenwich Land Trust greenhouse.

Some of the beds at the garden are used to grow produce for our “Neighborly Harvest Program,” which grows hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables annually for our Neighbor to Neighbor food pantry in Greenwich.
