The Culinary Wellness Garden at Nathaniel Witherell

Greenwich Community Gardens began managing the Culinary Wellness Garden at Nathaniel Witherell in 2019. The organic and heirloom produce from this garden goes directly to the chefs in the Witherell kitchen for food preparation for the residents’ meals.

The quarter-acre garden was built in 2017 with the generous contributions of volunteers and donors. Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses donated soil and raised beds, as well as their time to apply the powdered lime that was contributed by Oldcastle Minerals. The deer fencing was donated by Tenax Corporation, and Master Gardener Jennifer Jackson from Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford designed the master plan for the garden. Summer Rain of Greenwich donated the irrigation system and Helupka Tree Service  donated wood chips for the garden.

Greenwich Community Gardens oversees planting, tending, and harvesting with the help of volunteers throughout the growing season. For more information on how you can volunteer your time in this peaceful garden, please contact Greenwich Community Gardens.
